Everything you have to know about Rolex Submariner 6204 “James Bond”

The Rolex Submariner 6204, presented to the public at the Basel fair in ’54 is the first Rolex Submariner ever produced by Rolex known as “James Bond”. It is characterized by the bezel without graduation at the first 15 minutes and by the typical pencil spheres game. The dial is produced in numerous versions, different from each other for the displayed writings and for their arrangement. The maximum reachable depth is 100m-330ft.

Rolex Submariner ref. 6204, steel, produced in 1958. Case in 3 bodies, screw back, bi-directional graduated bezel for measuring decompression times. Black lacquered dial with mixed gold graphics, golden spheres. Movement cal. A.260, automatic winding, only time. This very rare specimen represents a real prototype that shows a different model name than the one subsequently used: the dial bears the wording Sub-Aqua .
